Make calls from inside the Roamless app

Most of us rely on instant messaging apps to call loved ones while we’re traveling, but sometimes we just need to be able to dial an actual phone number to talk to someone (like the airline, or the hotel, or the local taxi company... you get the idea.)

If you use your regular phone line, your local operator will charge you for the call (even if you have data roaming turned off). The generic travel eSIM has no calling capabilities. Tourist SIMs don’t usually support international calling. And WiFi calls are not always reliable.

For such cases, Roamless has an embedded “call feature” that lets you make calls to 200+ destinations from inside the app for cheap rates. Simply open the app, click on the “Calls” tab and dial your number.

As with mobile data, Roamless’ in-app calls feature also works on a pay-as-you-go model. You use your wallet balance to make phone calls to any international number you’d like, with rates starting from $0.01/minute. There are no additional steps needed.

There are no “country-specific call plans”. There are no up-front commitments. There’s not even a separate ‘calling plan’. It’s the same wallet and the same balance; you can use it to make phone calls whenever you need.

Note: While you cannot receive calls on the Roamless app just yet, in a few months we will introduce our “Local Numbers” feature where you will be able to get a phone number from 80+ country codes, use it as CallerID and be able to receive calls from inside the Roamless app as well. Stay tuned.

Works with WiFi or any mobile data

Roamless in-app calls feature is built for full flexibility (like everything else with Roamless). As such, you don’t need to be using the Roamless eSIM to use the in-app call feature.

In fact, you don’t even have to have the Roamless eSIM activated. All you need is a device connected to the internet, your Roamless app and some money in your Roamless wallet.
